Composite machining is one of the internationally popular machining processes in the field of mechanical processing. It is an advanced manufacturing technology. Composite machining is the implementation of several different processing techniques on a single machine tool. Composite machining is widely used and difficult, which is turning milling composite machining. The turning and milling composite machining center is equivalent to the combination of a CNC lathe and a machining center.
Turning and milling composite machine tools are rapidly developing and widely used CNC equipment in composite machining machines. The compounding of machine tools is one of the important directions for the development of machine tools. Composite machine tools also include various forms such as turning milling composite, turning milling composite, milling composite, cutting and 3D printing composite, cutting and ultrasonic vibration composite, laser and stamping composite, etc. The purpose of composite is to make a machine tool multifunctional, capable of completing multiple tasks with one clamping, improving processing efficiency and accuracy.
Compared with conventional CNC machining processes, the prominent advantages of composite machining are mainly manifested in the following aspects.
(1) Shorten the product manufacturing process chain and improve production efficiency. Turning and milling composite processing can achieve complete all or most of the processing steps in one operation, greatly shortening the product manufacturing process chain. On the one hand, this reduces the production auxiliary time caused by card changes, while also reducing the manufacturing cycle and waiting time of fixtures, which can significantly improve production efficiency.
(2) Reduce clamping times and improve machining accuracy. The reduction of card loading times avoids the accumulation of errors caused by positioning reference conversion. At the same time, most of the turn-milling composite processing equipment has the function of online detection, which can achieve in situ detection and accuracy control of key data in the manufacturing process, thereby improving the processing accuracy of the product.
(3) Reduce floor space and reduce production costs. Although the single unit price of turning and milling composite processing equipment is relatively high, due to the shortening of the manufacturing process chain and the reduction of equipment required for the product, as well as the reduction of the number of fixtures, workshop area, and equipment maintenance costs, it can effectively reduce the overall investment in fixed assets, production operation, and management costs.
